Rear mount bulkhead plug supports larger diameter cables

Amphenol RF has introduced a new IP67 FAKRA straight-crimp rear-mount bulkhead plug into its automotive and industrial portfolio. The plug is specifically designed to support TFC 302LL and comparable cable types that offer reliable mechanical and electrical performance along with low-loss capabilities.

The FAKRA plug is color-coded and mechanically keyed for easy installation, and is available in a variety of key codes including the universal Z code. Amphenol RF FAKRA interconnects are suitable for automotive and industrial automation applications such as sensor integration, automated inspection and vehicle communication networks.

The rear-mount bulkhead feature allows the connector to be mounted through a panel or enclosure wall, providing a stable and secure connection point. The plug is sealed in both the mated and unmated condition, ensuring that no contaminants enter. A gasket seals the interface internally, while an O-ring seal sits between the flange and panel mount for additional security.

The FAKRA plug is constructed with a rugged, high-performance plastic housing over a nickel-plated die-cast zinc alloy body and flange. It features a gold-plated brass center contact and a nickel-plated copper ferrule.

The 50-ohm FAKRA plug ensures reliable high-frequency data transmission up to 6 GHz, and standard straight crimp die sets are used to terminate the connector to the cable.
