Roblon's business is based on many years of experience, know-how and technology in the field of fibres. Innovation and product development are central to the company's efforts to achieve and sustain growth.
As a supplier to the global industrial market, the development of new products takes place in collaboration with industrial partners that set absolute requirements for documented quality and performance.
Roblon is a total solution provider to the cable industry, with a focus on FRP, performance fibres for cables, cable-making machinery and the interaction between machines and materials.
Its experience and knowledge of cable fibres and cable machinery offers a range of benefits, as the company has expertise in the manufacturing and processing of fibres as well as the knowledge of how to use the materials for cable manufacturing.
Roblon develops and manufactures performance fibres such as glass FRP, flexible glass and aramid strength members, binder yarns and ripcords (uncoated and water-blocking). It has been producing flexible glass strength members since the beginning of the FOC industry, and offers a wide range for a variety of applications, from reinforcing optical fibre cables to water blocking. Several different coatings can be applied, according to the need of the individual customer.
The latest compact cables offer little or no margin for material shrinkage, so Roblon has introduced a low-shrinkage polyester binder yarn. Its binder yarns also include a swellable water-blocking version.
The range of advanced composite materials includes aramid fibres, which have always been used as a strength member in FOC production, and are now also used for ADSS and special cables.
Roblon ripcords are made of polyester or aramid and used for easy removal of cable jackets. The ripcords are available in a variety of thicknesses and breaking strengths, lengths, coatings and colours, and are also available in non-wick form.
The company also manufactures servers, binders and precision winding equipment, along with other cable handling equipment. Its latest developments are a low-tension binder and a traversing precision coiling unit.
